Nominator's project description
| Professor Desjarlais is well known internationally for his outstanding work in psychological and phenomenological anthropology, critical medical anthropology and public anthropology. He has made important contributions to the study of homelessness in the United States. Furthermore, he has worked on life, death and healing in Nepal as well as on political violence and colonialism in France. In Germany, he will engage in collaborative anthropological research on themes of death and dying, and on affects and colonial aftermaths. |
